Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan confirmed the information of Politico magazine that the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Belgium Tigran Balayan received threats from the Ambassador of Azerbaijan.
"Yes, there were insults and threats during the reception, about which we informed the Belgian side with a statement, as well as the EU," Hovhannisyan said in the National Assembly, noting that an investigation is underway.
"There is no response yet," the MFA official added.
Let's remind that according to the mass media, the Armenian Embassy made an official complaint to other diplomatic missions in Brussels after RA Ambassador Tigran Balayan announced that Azerbaijani Ambassador Vagif Sadigov threatened to kill him.
The incident took place at the reception organized by the Turkish Embassy on the occasion of the country's national day at the Tangla Hotel in Brussels.
