Sandu intends to speed up the fight against corruption before the parliamentary elections

The President of Moldova, Maya Sandu, who is leading the second round of the presidential elections, intends to intensify the fight against corruption before the parliamentary elections scheduled for 2025.

"The most important thing is justice reforms and the fight against corruption.

We will use new methods and everything will go faster," he said. The second round of presidential elections was held in Moldova on November 3. According to the preliminary data of the Central Electoral Commission, after the counting of 98.78% of the records, Sandu is the leader with 54.97% of the votes, his rival Alexandru Stoyanoglo with 45.03%.

Moldova is a parliamentary republic, therefore, for full power, the president needs the support of the legislature.
