According to Alessandra Vellucci, head of the UN press service in Geneva, the 2026 humanitarian aid program for Ukraine has been financed by only 14%.
"The 2026 humanitarian aid program for Ukraine, which aims to raise $2.3 billion to help 4.12 million people, is only 14% funded as of February 19," he said at a briefing in Geneva.
The representative of UN Women in Ukraine, Sabina Frazer Gunesh, for her part, stated that humanitarian organizations are "on the verge of collapse" due to serious cuts in funding.
"One in three organizations said they would be forced to close within six months without additional funding due to funding cuts in 2025 and 2026, humanitarian organizations in Ukraine are projected to lose at least $53.9 million by the end of the year," he said at a briefing in Geneva.
