According to official data, after the Tsav resident's alarm, specialists of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention took a sample of the water, and a laboratory test showed that mercury exceeded the permissible limit. Double sampling was done from four points, and the results obtained on September 11 confirmed the same deviation again. That is, the danger was not detected by the state control system, but by the resident after noticing a metal mass in the water. Only after the alarm, delayed sampling and confirmation of the results, was the public warned not to use Tsavi's tap water.
Therefore, who is responsible for the fact that the danger was not detected in time? If the HCMC carries out sampling and laboratory control, then who should ensure that the entire state system works immediately after such an alarm? To this day, the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, who is the number one person responsible for public health, is entrusted with the coordination of public health and HCMC's work in the Ministry of Health system, why is the question of his responsibility not yet? be raised It is unclear. The same question is asked to Slavik Sargsyan, head of the Health and Labor Inspection Authority, who receives millions from the state budget. if the structure has supervisory functions in the health care sector, why were there not more active and visible actions of the inspectorate, from the alarm to the official warning of the population? And finally, why has the head of the HCCC, Stepan Atoyan, not been brought to justice? He receives millions in salary and bonuses.
But the duty of the state is not only to say "don't drink the water". It must answer: why the water became dangerous, why the danger was not detected in time, who should have prevented it and who will answer. What's more, this is not the first worrying case about water safety. After the Byureghavan incident, many questions remained unanswered. And again it is the same picture: studies, sampling, clarifications, reports to the Prime Minister, and those responsible for the system continue to hold office as if nothing had happened. Now we should expect from Nikol Pashinyan not only an order to find out the reasons, but also an answer regarding the punishments for the officials' inaction. After all, this is a matter of national security."
