NATO fighter jets destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle that entered the airspace of Lithuania. This was announced by the President of Lithuania. Authorities said the drone may have entered Kaunas, the country's second-largest city in southern Lithuania, after midnight Tuesday from Belarus.
According to the representative of the National Crisis Management Center of Lithuania, the origin of the drone is still unknown. Alerts about drones were sounded in the capital Vilnius and the surrounding area on Tuesday morning.
The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania announced that the Lithuanian armed forces and Italian pilots participating in the NATO air defense mission showed a quick and responsible response to the drone attack.
