Iran demands the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon and Palestine and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the areas of occupation. This was stated by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, at a meeting of the BRICS summit in a limited format. "With regard to the events in Palestine and Lebanon, the Islamic Republic of Iran demands the speedy establishment of a lasting ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of troops of the occupation regime from the occupied areas and the immediate provision of humanitarian assistance to the population Gaza Strip and displaced Lebanese residents,” Pezeshkian’s press service quoted him as saying.
At an extended meeting of the association's summit, the Iranian President noted that "the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East could jeopardize the world order."
Pezeshkian called on the BRICS countries to do everything to “ensure the rights of the Palestinian people.”
