Russian President Vladimir Putin joked at a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the level of their relations was such that he would be understood without an interpreter.
The Russian leader said this when he noticed that the translator was hesitant to interrupt him. “We have such a relationship that I thought that you already understood everything,” Putin joked after the Indian translator began translating his words for Modi .
The Indian Prime Minister laughed in response. The meeting is taking place on the BRICS fields in Kazan.
