Negotiations took place between Russian and American delegations in Riyadh. Moscow and Washington discussed bilateral relations, the settlement of the situation in Ukraine and the preparation of the meeting of the leaders of the two countries. Writes RIA Novosti.
"I think, it was very useful, we listened to each other, I have reason to believe that the American side has begun to understand our position," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The parties agreed to ensure the rapid appointment of ambassadors in the capitals of the two countries and to solve the task of the work of diplomatic missions once and for all. The parties will appoint their representatives who will work to stop the Ukrainian conflict.
Negotiations lasted 4.5 hours. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Assistant Secretary of State Marco Rubions, US Assistant to the President of the Middle East, took part in the meeting by the Russian side.
