Political commentator Hakob Badalyan's Telegram post: "Six European countries - Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Poland and Britain, as well as the European Commission - have issued a statement that they should also participate in the negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
Let's leave aside the formulation that the goal should be to provide Ukraine with a strong position.
Of course, Ukraine's position does not concern anyone. Moreover, a strong Ukraine was seen as a problem, perhaps first of all, in Europe, but it was simply destroyed by Russia.
As I had the opportunity to say, the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine was perhaps no less necessary than Russia, and perhaps more so for neighboring Poland and other European countries.
Imagine, who in Europe would want a successful, modern, developing, strong, sovereign Ukraine, when Ukraine is the largest country in Europe in terms of its territory and natural resources, with a population of one million.
European countries and the European Commission are certainly interested in their own fate, so as not to predetermine it Russia and the US, and to a certain extent China.
Will Trump succeed in imposing his own presence? The question here, of course, is that despite the joint statement of the six countries, they still have their own differences in interests. Accordingly, the question will arise as to how much stronger the common interest of “not being left out” will be than the differences in interests with each other. There is, of course, the example of the European Union, when a larger number of countries have been included with one common interest, having their own separate interests.
But, it is also worth noting that, in the main, the very circumstance of differences has deepened a certain crisis of relations within the European Union, which has manifested itself on different occasions and in different ways. Of course, the culture of European relations has contributed to the crisis having a very civil manifestation,but still, it exists.
And here it is perhaps worth considering another question: can the common interest of six European countries in this process of ending the Ukrainian war become the basis for the formation of a new European military-political format?
By the way, let us pay attention to the fact that the five EU member states and the European Commission are also joined in this issue by Britain, which has been outside the EU for years. After all, the foundation of the European Union was the partnership of two states: France and Germany, as they say, the “coal agreement” between them.
Can the current common concern of the six countries become a new start for European transformation and form a new European military-political bloc? But will Britain and Germany fit into that single bloc?
After all, let me remind you again, the Ukrainian war began first with the blow received by Germany, which was, of course, more moral-political, but very sharp, and there was a Euro-Atlantic "The American-British hand of the charter was very noticeable."
