Syria will receive two floating power plants from Turkey and Qatar

Syria will receive two floating power plants from Turkey and Qatar, which together will produce an additional 800 MW of electricity. This was reported to SANA by Khaled Abu Day, Director General of the General Directorate of Electricity Transmission and Distribution of Syria.

Two floating power plants will arrive in Syria from Turkey and Qatar, producing 800 megawatts of electricity, which is equivalent to the current level of production in Syria.

Syria is suffering from severe electricity shortages. Electricity is available for only three hours a day in most of the country. Earlier, the Syrian interim government said it planned to provide up to eight hours of electricity a day within two months.

"The scale of the damage done to power lines, generators and transformer stations under the previous regime is too great, we are committed to rebuilding the infrastructure so that the grid can efficiently transport electricity," Abu Dey emphasized.
