The White House is refusing to discuss joint lawsuits by Japanese steel company Nippon Steel and American US Steel against US President Joe Biden and his administration over a decision to block a deal between the two corporations.
White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre announced this at a press conference, TWP reports.
"We are not talking about lawsuits. You know, the Department of Justice is dealing with that, I'm not going to comment on that, and I think the president's statement on Friday represents his thoughts and reasons why he decided to block it. So I simply have nothing to add other than what the president has stated.
But as we usually do, we won't talk about any trials," he said in response to questions from reporters on Biden's plane to Louisiana. The companies say Biden's decision to block Japan's Nippon Steel's acquisition of US Steel , is "illegal political interference."
