On December 17, the EU will discuss ways to intervene in the situation in Georgia

On December 17, the heads of the foreign policy departments of the European Union countries will discuss pressure measures and ways to intervene in the situation in Georgia, including the imposition of sanctions and the possibility of limiting the visa-free regime. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced this at the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers.

"We will discuss the issue of Georgia at the next EU Foreign Relations Council (on December 17), TASS notes, the European Commission will present a draft of proposals on what measures we can take, including a travel ban for high-ranking Georgian officials, visa [restrictions] related issues and so on," he said.

In turn, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis stated that the new head of European diplomacy, Kaia Kallas, is already preparing proposals from the European Commission on possible "options" to put pressure on Tbilisi to force Georgia to return to the path of accession.
