Abu Dhabi's law enforcement agencies have arrested 45 people for disinformation, filming and publishing videos related to the situation in the region, the UAE capital's police announced on its social networks.
"The Criminal Investigation Department of the Abu Dhabi Police has arrested 45 people of different nationalities for filming various locations during events and posting these images on social networks.
They were also charged with spreading false and misleading information that could inflame public opinion and spread rumors," the statement said. The police are said to have taken the necessary legal and administrative measures against these individuals as part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to monitor and crack down on violations related to social media abuse.
