"The completion of the troop withdrawal phase allows us to carefully consider other aspects of bilateral cooperation," he said.

Jaishankar said India remains committed to "achieving a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable settlement of the border issue through bilateral negotiations" with China.
At the same time, he emphasized the "key principles" of the management of the border areas, which must be respected in all circumstances.

"The first is that both sides strictly respect the agreements, the second is that neither side should try to unilaterally change the status quo," Jaishankar emphasized.
