As part of the cooperation between the Anti-Smuggling Department of the RA SRC and the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), operative information was received that a particularly large amount of "cocaine" type drug was to be imported to the Republic of Armenia by air from the Federal Republic of Brazil.

As a result of analytical work, the employees of the anti-smuggling department of the SRC found out the possible identity of the drug transporter. The South African citizen J. M.

The latter was subjected to an X-ray scan, as a result, foreign bodies were observed in the person's abdomen. In order to remove the said foreign bodies from the body of the citizen, the latter was transferred from "Zvartnots" Airport to the "Armenia" Republican Medical Center.

From his body, 117 cylindrical packaging bags containing white, powder-like masses similar to "cocaine" type drug were taken out.

Their total weight was 1620 grams.

The market value of the particularly large quantities of drugs found exceeds more than 550,000 USD.
