Karen Andreasyan resigned

President of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan submitted his resignation. He informed about this on his Facebook page.

"I want to get ahead of the circulating series of dismissals. I no longer want to be a chairman and a member of the Supreme Judicial Council. Apparently, I don't want to say the deep reasons. Whatever I say, there are a thousand and one interpretations and many false hypotheses will advance.

I have already had such an experience. Instead, let me modestly say that I brought the judicial system out of a shameful crisis. People inside know it for sure (except for a few and their relatives, whom I hurt for the sake of the system's surgical treatment). I have laid foundations that, if not corrupted, all the people entering the court will benefit from their results in a year or two. All our current failures in the judicial system are in the medium term, because it was not possible to satisfy today's fair public demands in two years, and we did not want to satisfy unfair expectations.

In order to thoroughly explain why and how everyone's positive expectations from the judicial system were broken, the text of the resignation letter is too short for that.

I am grateful to the legislative and executive wings, headed by the Prime Minister, as well as the former and current members of the Supreme Judicial Council, for supporting our crisis management and, of course, entrusting me with this very difficult but important position. I sincerely believe in the vision of having a strong fair court in Armenia.

I will continue to support that great dream in different capacities."
