US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Elise Marie Stefanik, a member of the US House of Representatives, to the post of US Ambassador to the United Nations, reports CNN.

"I am honored to nominate Stefanik for the position of US ambassador to the United Nations. Elise is an incredibly strong and intelligent supporter," Trump said, confirming that Stefanik was offered the position.
