The Azerbaijani side claims that Armenians who voluntarily left the region do not have the right to return under the condition of repatriation, as they were brought as colonists in the 19th century. Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mamedov made such a statement at the scientific conference held in Baku, whose words are quoted by the British professor.
The sources of X state that during the conference held yesterday in Baku, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan said that the region as such cannot be considered their ancestral homeland. Meanwhile, they may have the right to return to Azerbaijan and settle in different regions and cities as citizens of Azerbaijan.
