The assessments made about the results of the unified exams, that they are bad, are superficial and do not present a complete picture. This was stated by the Minister of Higher Education and Science, Zhanna Andreasyan.
According to her, in addition to the unified exams, there are also various opportunities for admission to interstate universities in Armenia, and a number of graduates continue their studies at universities operating abroad.
Andreasyan noted that in recent years the number of people leaving to study at interstate or foreign universities has significantly increased.
According to the data she presented, if in 2022 1919 people took advantage of these opportunities, then in 2026 their number reached 3011, an increase of about 30%.
The number of male citizens who received a deferral for the purpose of studying abroad has also increased. In 2022, 131 people received a deferral, and in 2026, 252.
Andreasyan also noted that traditional trends in the choice of professions are largely maintained. Medical, legal, and economic fields continue to be in demand among applicants.
