Approval was given to the draft laws "On Amendments to the Law on Administrative Territorial Division of the Republic of Armenia", "On Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government". In case of application of the package of legal acts, the legal basis of the process of unification of communities will be ensured.
The project plans to form the following communities: Ararat of Ararat marz, which includes the current Ararat and Vedi communities with 32 settlements included in the latter, Vanadzor of Lori marz, which includes the current Vanadzor and Pambak communities with the number of 22 settlements included in the latter.
As a result of the merger of Vanadzor and Pambak communities, we will have the Vanadzor community, the administrative center of which will be the city of Vanadzor. Thus, 4 communities, 54 settlements will be involved in the proposed projects, and as a result of their unification, 2 communities will be formed.
