At least 24 civilians were killed in an airstrike on the village of Sharshar in Sudan's North Kordofan state on Wednesday, Dabanga Radio reported Thursday, citing witnesses and human rights defenders.
According to them, the airstrike took place on July 29 in a village west of Bara. According to the human rights organization "For the Protection of Darfur Victims", most of the victims were women and children. Eyewitnesses claim that Sharshar was bombed by the Sudanese armed forces.
There is no independent confirmation of this information. The Sudanese army has not yet commented on the report of the airstrike.
