NBC: US not deliberately destroying all Iranian missiles and drones to save ammunition

The US military has begun selectively intercepting Iranian missiles and drones amid a dwindling supply of air defense munitions, NBC News reported on July 24, citing US administration officials.

According to the report, military commanders deliberately order ammunition reserves if they can determine that an enemy missile or drone will not hit US forces, damage key US facilities or threaten Washington's allies in the Middle East.

The TV channel explained that in some cases, air defense personnel remained inactive if US forces were not present at the locations of the alleged Iranian strike. Sources are unsure whether this standoff resulted in the death or injury of US servicemen and civilians. Sources admit that such an approach is full of dangers.
