US President Donald Trump, concerned about the danger of running out of ammunition reserves, has postponed plans to dramatically intensify the military campaign against Iran, writes The New York Times.
"Trump, at least for the time being, has delayed plans to dramatically expand the US military campaign against Iran, particularly out of concern that an escalation of the war could lead to a critical depletion of the already depleted stockpile of Patriot anti-missile interceptors and other munitions for the Pentagon's air defense systems in the Middle East," the publication noted.
According to the newspaper, that decision was made after a meeting with the advisers of the US president and high-ranking government officials. The article mentions that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, Dan Kane, warned Trump in private conversations about possible risks.
