The representatives of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports made a monitoring visit to Shirak Marz, where, with public-private cooperation, the fixing and cleaning of the mural painting (13th century) located at the entrance of the St.
Ara Zaryan, an Armenian philanthropist living in Italy, developed the scientific design documents for the mural and presented it to the discussion of the working group on monumental art monuments attached to the ministry. The works are carried out by Christine Lamoureux, a fresco restoration specialist from Italy.
The representatives of the Historical and Cultural Monuments Preservation Department of the KGSMS discussed the problems recorded during the monitoring on the spot with the restoration specialist. The work of the next stages of fixing and cleaning the mural will be submitted for approval by the authorized body.
The installation and cleaning of the mural painting "Sasuntsi" by artist Sargis Muradyan in the house of culture of Apaga village, Armavir marz, carried out in the 1970s by means of the state budget, was also monitored. The Ministry of Education and Culture initiated the restoration works of the famous painter's mural on the eve of his 100th birthday.
Fixing and cleaning works are nearing completion. they are carried out by Armenian specialists.
