Ukraine offered Russia to limit military operations to only four regions: Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this on June 28.
"Another proposal of Ukraine is to limit military operations to only four areas, that is, to carry out military operations only in Kherson region, Zaporizhia region, DRC and LPR," he told "Vesti" journalist Pavel Zarubin.
According to Putin, if such a proposal is accepted, Kiev will be able to withdraw troops from other regions, including Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Sumy regions, as well as from parts of the state border, and concentrate them in the zone of active military operations. The president noted that considering the lack of personnel in the armed forces of Ukraine, this option can become a "salvation" for them, but it is unacceptable for Russia.
