During the consideration of the applications of 7 political forces contesting the results of the 2026 National Assembly elections in the Constitutional Court, Aram Vardevanyan, the representative of the "Strong Armenia" alliance of parties, while presenting the arguments of the claim, stated that there are all grounds to invalidate the decision of the Central Electoral Commission 259-A of June 14 and the results of the elections.
"On our part, the application is formulated as follows: the results of the elections should be recognized as invalid, and a new procedure for the distribution of mandates should be defined, or a second round of elections should be appointed," stated Aram Vardevanyan.
Liparit Drmeyan, a representative of the "Wings of Unity" party, asked to invalidate the CEC decision 259-A of June 14, 2026, and also to invalidate the results of the regular elections of the RA National Assembly of June 7, 2026.
"The total amount of votes in 3 polling stations was around 3500, and the PAP lacked 156 votes to overcome the electoral threshold. As a result, the representation and number of forces in the National Assembly could change, and the violations were not in favor of the PAP, therefore, they could have an impact on the election results," he said.
Liparit Drmeyan also reminded that the CEC had recorded that the invalid recognition of the election results in 3 electoral precincts does not affect the election result, and the CEC president stated that the re-voting may violate the equality of voters, because a group of voters appears in significantly different starting conditions than other voters.
Taron Baghdasaryan, a representative of the "Democracy, Law, Discipline" party, presented the inaccuracies and 7 grounds based on violations regarding the arithmetic calculation, which, according to him, are sufficient to conclude that the election results do not reflect the true will of the citizens.
"I request to declare invalid the decision of the RA CEC of 14.06.2026 No. 259-A and the election results based on the results of the RA NA elections held on June 7, 2026," said the representative of the DOK party.
