By the decision of the government, it is proposed to extend the period of the visa-free regime established for foreigners with a residence status (valid for 6 months from the date of entry into the Republic of Armenia) in the territory of the United States of America, the countries of the European Union, the countries of the Schengen Agreement, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait or the Sultanate of Oman.
According to the decision, the mentioned foreigners will be given the opportunity to visit Armenia without the mandatory requirement of an entry visa until 2027. July 1. According to the rationale, the aforementioned states have a developed economy with a high-income population. Foreigners with residency status in their territory also have economic activity, business interests and financial capabilities.
In this context, extending the period of liberalization of the entry visa regime will contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of RA by encouraging more investors, businessmen and business visits from this group. In addition, the visa liberalization period can stimulate the increase in tourist flows, which in turn will provide an additional boost to the local economy, especially in the tourism, hotel, service and restaurant sectors.
