Democratic Party candidate and US Vice President Kamala Harris made her first public speech after losing the election.
Heannouncedthat his team would support Trump and ensure a "peaceful transfer of power."
Addressing his supporters, Harris said "we have to accept" the election results.
"The principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results.
This principle, like any other, distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny, and anyone who seeks public trust must respect it," he said.
Harris stated that the Biden administration is committed to helping President-elect Donald Trump and his team during the transition phase and will ensure a peaceful transition of power.
