French President Emmanuel Macron referred to the statement he made yesterday that he will discuss the issue of Armenian prisoners with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"First, I will discuss it with the President of Armenia and the Prime Minister of Armenia. After that, I will call President Aliyev, and together we will organize the right way to act, be it through a personal meeting or through this phone call. But you can count on me. I firmly believe in this peace process," he said.
According to the French president, "I think the moment of truth has come for Europe, which requires greater unity and greater ambition. This meeting was important. We need to speed up the process even more and move forward. We need a strong Europe that reduces its excessive dependencies, builds its own decisions in the areas of peace and security and acts as a continent that is truly united by a common destiny. This is what we believe in."
