US President Donald Trump believes that China should join the patrol of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure safe navigation. He told reporters about this on his plane leaving from Florida to Washington. "In my opinion, they should do it," the president said, answering the question about China's possible participation in the joint patrolling of the strait.
"They get most of their oil, 90%, through the strait. So, I asked if they wanted to join. We will see.
Maybe they will do it, maybe not," added Trump, referring to China. Speaking about ensuring safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, the American leader emphasized.
"I think that in the long run, other countries should help us in this matter." The head of the Washington administration previously noted that the United States is conducting negotiations with approximately seven countries on the issue of joint patrol operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
