He also praised the American Armenian community as strong, intelligent and dynamic. In response, His Holiness Aram I expressed gratitude to Mr. Trump for his public declaration of support for the Armenian people and emphasized the vital importance of US global leadership at this critical time.
His Eminence expressed great hope that with the arrival of the new administration, the United States will seriously address the Artsakh issue, especially regarding international guarantees of the right of return, security and status of the Armenians of Artsakh, as well as ensuring responsibility for ethnic cleansing.
In addition, His Holiness expressed hope for an active representation of Armenia under the new administration and the need for an open dialogue with the Armenian Eastern and Western Dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America and the Armenian Dat Committee of America," said the statement of the Great House of the Catholicos of Cilicia.
