The United States has asked Italy to join the international stabilization force in Gaza as a co-founder, Bloomberg reported, citing Iranian sources.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said earlier that she will not sign the document of joining the "Peace Council" of Gaza, due to its contradiction with the country's constitution.
"The United States has appealed to Italy to join the International Stabilization Force in the Gaza Strip as one of the co-founders. This week, diplomats sent the proposal to Prime Minister Georgia Mellon's office and the Italian Foreign Ministry," the publication states.
