Why is the role of Master Komitas Vardapet so highly valued in our reality and our culture in general, because, in fact, he saved part of the intangible heritage from extinction by going to villages, collecting, documenting and so on. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at the government session.
"At that time we did not have a state, but now we have a state that is obliged to implement the direction of that cultural policy. If it seems to us that we don't have such lost intangible values now, we are terribly mistaken," he said.
According to Pashinyan, our kitchen is an immaterial, important asset.
"In our national security strategy, we emphasized Armenian cuisine as a national value," he said.
The Prime Minister mentioned that during visits to villages, when people are introduced to their way of life, they are treated to different dishes that are unfamiliar to them, and when they try to order that dish in a restaurant in the same place, they don't even hear about it.
"After several such cases, I set a task to implement a competition or grant program, so that our specialists go through the settlements and collect unique recipes and dishes," the Prime Minister said.
