Nemo, the winner of Eurovision 2024, refused his prize because of Israel's participation.

Nemo emphasized that the values of unity, inclusiveness and dignity have always been important to him, and they are what made the competition significant. He noted that the UN's Independent International Commission has recognized Israel's actions as genocide, which calls into question the compliance of the decisions of the European Broadcasting Union with the declared principles of the competition.

The singer added that when some countries withdraw from the contest because of such controversies, "it should be clear that something is deeply wrong." After that, the artist decided to return the trophy by sending it to the head office of the European Union of Broadcasters in Geneva.
