Iran demanded an immediate meeting of the UN Security Council

Iran demands an urgent session of the UN Security Council to condemn Israel's airstrikes against the Islamic Republic. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a letter to the UN secretary-general and the head of the Security Council "requesting an urgent meeting of the Security Council to take a decisive position to condemn this aggression," the ministry said in a statement.

In his letter, Araghchi claims that "most of the missiles fired were intercepted by Iran's defense systems," but the attack resulted in damage to "target points" as well as the death of four soldiers. He said the Israeli attack was a "clear violation of Iran's sovereignty" that "gives Iran an inalienable right to respond to this criminal aggression."
