Russia is ready to make compromises to solve the Ukrainian problem, but there are no substantive negotiations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Russia 1 TV channel.
"We are ready to seek compromises, we are ready to make reasonable compromises, but I don't want to go into details now, because there are no substantive negotiations and the other side refuses to do so," the Kremlin leader said.
Vladimir Putin noted that any outcome should be in favor of Russia and based on developments on the battlefield.
Yesterday, at the press conference following the BRICS summit, Putin, speaking about the prospect of peace talks with Ukraine, noted that Kiev does not want it, perhaps because it is not ready to lift the martial law and hold presidential elections. The Russian leader added that "the ball is in the court of the Ukrainian side".
