Turkey's membership in BRICS is very important for all countries participating in the association. They are interested in its joining the organization, press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told the TRT World television channel on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan on October 22-24.
“Of course, Turkey’s accession to BRICS is very important for all BRICS members. Turkey is a major regional power and plays a very important role in global affairs. Therefore, everyone is interested in inviting Turkey to this process,” said the Kremlin representative. “Interesting for us Turkey’s interest is in us as a country, and not as a member of NATO,” Peskov noted in connection with allegations that the country’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is incompatible with participation in BRICS. “We have bad relations with NATO and NATO is our enemy now. NATO infrastructure is directly and indirectly involved in the war against our country, its intelligence capabilities are being used against our country,” added the press secretary of the Russian President.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took part in the BRICS summit in Kazan.
