Former Minister of Economic Security Sana Takairi won the election, becoming a new president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDK). He will probably become the next prime minister and the first female prime minister in the history of Japan.
The 64-year-old woman, born in Nara's West Prefecture, is actively conservative and a defender of traditional values. During his political career, he opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage in the country and opposed his wife's opportunity to climb the imperial throne of Japan.
He is an active supporter of reviewing Article 9 of the Constitution, which declares the rejection of the creation of the armed forces and the way of resolving international disputes.
