US President Joe Biden may initiate Ukraine's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance if Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris wins the presidential election.
To promote this initiative, the American leader will be able to use his transition period - after the elections in early November until the inauguration in January. Washington has no fundamental objections to inviting Kyiv to NATO, but the issue is causing great disagreement among Ukraine's other Western allies. Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky complained about Germany’s reluctance
invite Ukraine to NATO.
