Ruben Vardanyan petitioned to interrogate Nikol Pashinyan in the Baku court


The former Minister of State of Artsakh has submitted a number of motions today.

Former Artsakh Minister, businessman and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan's "trial" continued in Baku today. According to the Azerbaijani media, Vardanyan has submitted several motions.

In one of them, he asked for the criminal case against him to interrogate a number of people, including RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, members of the OSCE Minsk Group, ICRC representatives in Azerbaijan.

His defender Abraham Berman stated that he supports the motion.

The Prosecutor General's Office stated that these people have nothing to do with the case, prosecutors have asked the court not to take the trial. The Board of Judges said that the motion would not be considered, but in the future, Vardanyan may file a motion again.

Later, Ruben Vardanyan submitted another motion to court, saying that he was not soldiers, so it does not agree that the case against him is in the military court, but the court rejected the submitted motion.

The former Minister of State for Artsakh has filed another motion, saying it wants to get acquainted with the decisions on the petitions submitted by him and his lawyer during the previous court hearings. The presiding judge noted that conditions will be created to get acquainted with them.

In another motion, Vardanyan stated that he did not agree with the accusation of illegal illegal the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He also asked for the court to interrogate those who once headed the Russian peacekeeping force in Artsakh. The judge stated that the commanders of the Russian peacekeeping force have nothing to do with this case, the mediation was left without the examination of the future.

Ruben Vardanyan's lawyer Abraham asked Berman to enable the closed meeting with the client. The court upheld the motion.

The next session was scheduled for September 23.

It should be reminded that from January 17, the "trial" in the case of former military-political leaders of Artsakh is underway. Former presidents Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, former Commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, former Foreign Minister David Babayan and others are among the defenders.
