The premature death factor has been named heart disease

During the childhood, high blood pressure can testify to the risk of premature death of cardiovascular disease at an adult age. This conclusion was scientists from northwestern Chicago. The results of the study were published in Jama magazine.

The work has been used by the "Collaborative Perinatal Project" data, which is one of the biggest research on the impact of pregnancy and early childhood factors in the United States. It included about 38,000 children whose blood pressure was measured at the age of seven.

These figures have become percentage, given age, gender and height according to the suggestions of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In the analysis, the body's mass index and demographic characteristics were taken into account.

In order to assess the consequences, scientists have used the national mortality index by following the fate of the participants by 2016. At that time, 2,837 people died, 504 of whom were from cardiovascular diseases.

It turned out that people with high blood pressure (among childhood) were more inclined to die from cardiovascular disease complications to 50 years old. Even moderate deviations from average value increased the risk. With the increase of systolic (low) pressure, the probability increased by 13%, and with diastolic (upper) pressure, 18%. The highest risk was registered in children whose indicators were ranked at the first 10% of age, sex and height. Even after taking into account the environment and hereditary factors, the connection has been maintained. The analysis of the data of 150 groups of brothers and sisters also showed that the risk of premature deaths in children with premature hypertension remained higher compared to their relatives.
