At the meeting, His Eminence presented to Ms. Fernandez de Gourmendi the current situation in the region, noting with concern that Azerbaijan continues its expansionist ambitions and presents new demands to Armenia by using the threat of force and violating human rights.
In this regard, the Armenian Patriarch also referred to the security issues facing the Armenian people, emphasizing the taking of effective steps by various international legal structures to protect the rights of Armenia and the Artsakh Armenians, to return the prisoners held in Baku until now, to preserve the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh, as well as to condemn the genocidal acts against the Artsakh Armenians. .
The Armenian Patriarch also expressed his appreciation to Mrs. Fernandez de Gourmendi for her efforts in the field of justice and the protection of the rights of the children of the Armenian people.
