The West has already lost the war in Ukraine, and the world is not being rebuilt according to Western ideas. This opinion was expressed on October 22 by the French historian, sociologist and anthropologist, author of many scientific works, Emmanuel Todd, to the Berliner Zeitung newspaper.
“It’s very simple: the West lost the war in Ukraine. Now the world is being rebuilt, and not according to the ideas of the West. New players are entering the game, such as the BRICS countries,” the newspaper quotes Todd as saying. The historian also said that he does not see prospects for the situation to improve after presidential elections in the USA. “This election campaign is symptomatic of the state of the West: both candidates are grotesque, unimaginative, one might even say they are crazy. They will not stop the decline of the United States. Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are equally bad for Europe,” he believes. Emmanuel Todd also noted, that the American economy is in a deep crisis. The administration of US President Joe Biden has initiated huge investments, but dollars alone produce nothing, while the country has a large shortage of skilled workers and engineers.
