RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Hasmik Avagyan received a member of the Armenian Sports Gymnastics team, 18-year-old Hamlet Manukyan, who became a gold medal at the World University Summer Games in Germany.
Hovhannes Gabrielyan, President of the RA Student Sports Federation, head coach of the Armenian Sports Gymnastics team Hakob Serobyan, was also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the young athlete and the team representatives, the Deputy Minister of Education congratulated the Minister of Education and emphasized. "Your victories are not only inspired, but also inspire confidence that the rich traditions of the development of gymnastics will continue through the joint efforts of the new generation and experienced specialists. Student sports promotion is one of the most important directions of our state policy. "
Deputy Minister Hasmik Avagyan also thanked for the efforts and dedication of the coaching team.
The head coach of the team Hakob Serobyan thanked for the reception and noted that the competition was serious about the global universal competitions. About 100 medalists of the world, European Championships and Olympic Games took part. According to Hakob Serobyan, it is an important achievement for the title of the winner in such a similar tournament for Hamlet and the team.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister touched upon the prospects for the development of the sphere, reminding that the founding of the new sports school after Albert Azaryan took place yesterday. It was noted that the complex that meets modern standards is planned to be commissioned in 2027, when Armenia will host the European Gymnastics Championship for the first time.
It should be reminded that Hamlet Manukyan won the only medal of the Armenian Student Sports Delegation in Germany, screwed at 14.933 points in Germany.
Summing up the results of the championship, Hovhannes Gabrielyan, President of the RA Student Sports Federation, noted that about 90 athletes from more than 150 countries, including the winners of the World and European Championships, took part in the tournament.
Armenia was represented by 18 athletes who performed in seven sports, swimming, sports gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, judo, fencing, taekwondo and athletics. The participation of the Armenian delegation was organized with the support of the Ministry of Edgateing Department.
