Public figures asked the Russian State Duma to ban the slogan "I am Russian" on products

"People's Call" public movement has asked the deputies of the State Duma to prepare and discuss a bill to ban the registration and use of the names of nations on products in a defamatory context, "RIA Novosti" reports, citing the document at the agency's disposal. As an example, public figures cited two applications for the registration of the trademark "I am Russian" that singer Yaroslav Dronov (Shaman) had previously submitted to Rospatent.

"We ask the deputies of the State Duma to prepare and discuss a bill that prohibits the registration and use of the names of nations, national identities, and state and religious symbols on products in a defamatory or offensive context," the "People's Call" message said.
