The collapse of the rock in Dagestan has cut more than 50 villages from the world

The massive collapse of the rock on the border of Dagestan (Russia) Charksinsky and Gunibstant regions has closed the Gunib-Jurib Regional Road, which is one of the key transport arteries of the country's mountaineering. This was reported by Astra edition.

As a result of the incident, 53 villages in the Chardinsk region, where more than 14,000 people live, have been cut off from the outside world. The only way to supply these settlements is closed due to spilled stones and land.

There are no alternative routes of passengers and cargo transportation in this area. The reason for the collapse of the rock mass was most likely heavy precipitation and spring melting, which disrupted the stability of the mountain slopes.
