North Korea has sent 3,000 soldiers since the beginning of the year to support Russian forces in the war against Ukraine, according to CNN.
According to Seoul, 4,000 were presumed to be killed or injured in the beginning. In addition, North Korea continues to supply Moscow missiles, artillery and ammunition.
According to the available data, North Korea has supplied to Russia "a significant amount of small-range ballistic missiles", as well as mines and volleyballs. Seoul also said that depending on the situation on the front could increase. From October 2024, the Korean People's Democratic Republic (DPRK) deployed about 10,000 soldiers in Kursk region of the Russian Federation, where Ukrainian soldiers invaded.
In late January, the American newspaper The New York Times and the British Sky News channel reported that North Korean forces had to bring out of the front lines due to large losses.
