On January 27, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with Asad Al-Shaibani, Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, in Damascus.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed the commitment of the Armenian government to develop bilateral relations with the Syrian side. The interlocutors exchanged ideas on possible directions of cooperation.
Vahan Kostanyan confirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to support the humanitarian and reform implementation sectors, as well as various other programs considered a priority in Syria.
In this context, there has been support for efforts aimed at creating an atmosphere of solidarity and inclusiveness in Syria.
The interlocutors exchanged ideas on regional developments, emphasizing the importance of regulating relations with neighbors.
The Syrian side highly appreciated the visit of the RA delegation to Damascus, and an agreement was reached to continue contacts.
