In the race for regional infrastructure projects, the actions of both regional and extra-regional actors in 2025 will most likely continue to fit into the logic of maintaining or increasing their own political influence in the region, which may create additional security risks for Armenia.
This is stated in the 2025 annual report on external risks of the Republic of Armenia published by the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Republic of Armenia.
"Unlike some centers that consider the de-blockade of the region from the point of view of competitive and political effects, Armenia considers the de-blockade of the region not only as one of the components of the peace agenda, but also as an opportunity to fully realize the potential of logistics and transit routes, the full essence of which is reflected in the "Crossroads of Peace" project .
The complete unblocking of routes and transit opportunities with Turkey and Azerbaijan is not only one of the important guarantees of the region's stability, but also, taking into account the current geopolitical and regional realities, our region has a real chance to become one of the important and safe logistics hubs of the Eurasian continent," the report states.
