According to RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, border demarcation with Azerbaijan does not continue from Syunik marz, because there must be a bilateral agreement between the states for such a process. Mirzoyan said this during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly. MP Artur Khachatryan of the "Hayastan" faction drew the attention of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the fact that significant areas of the country are occupied in the Syunik marz.
"We say that we have territories under occupation - 200 square meters. with an area of more than km, which we must present during the delimitation process: arguments, justifications, documents, etc. Should I start from the north or the south? You still have one thing drawn in your mind, which is in your mind, and if it were up to me, I would start the demarcation of Armenia from the Pacific Ocean and end it with the Atlantic Ocean. It should be understood that there are 200 other countries on the planet besides us. When we deal with issues that do not only concern Armenia, we must understand that we can do something when there is a bilateral agreement on it," Mirzoyan said.
